About the Conference
Welcome to the 6th Baltic Gas Conference which will take place 2022 in Vilnius.
The Baltic Gas Conference is the only conference focused exclusively on the gas sector in the Baltic Sea Region. As the leading gas conference in this region it brings together key players from the industry, politics, regulators and customers to discuss the most recent developments in the Baltic gas market and its future perspectives.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the conference had to be cancelled in 2020 and 2021.
The Baltic Gas Conference started in 2017 with three conferences in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Topics of these first three conferences were the gas market liberalization and the potential of future developments, taking into consideration issues such as an increasing cross-border trade among the Baltic countries, the creation of a single European energy market as well as several infrastructure projects like the Balticconnector between Estonia and Finland or the planned gas pipeline interconnection “GIPL” between Poland and Lithuania.
In 2018 the conference took place in Riga and focused on the current status of the gas market liberalization in Latvia as well as analyzed potential future developments while putting them into the context of creating a single European energy market.
The 2019 conference in Tallinn addressed the transformation of the European gas market with a focus on the opening of the Finnish gas market and the commissioning of the Baltic Connector.
More information about the former Baltic Gas Conferences is available in the section “Past Conferences”.
